When Egwene al'Vere, Nynaeve al'Meara and Elayne Trakand were traveling from Tar Valon to Tear, they were ambushed by a group of brigands. One of Adden's men saw their Great Serpent rings and captured them. He believed that he could get a good price for Aes Sedai if one had the stomach to deal with the right kind of buyer, a Myrddraal. He died with a spear through him when a group of Aiel, including Aviendha, Dailin and Rhuarc, saved the three women.[1]
