The Aesdaishar Palace is the royal palace of Kandor. It is located in the capital city of Chachin. The current resident of the palace is Queen Ethenielle Kirukon Materasu. The word Aesdaishar means "All Glory" in the Old Tongue.
The Aesdaishar Palace is located on a cleared mountain-top and is a small settlement in itself, consisting of a complex of buildings, domes and towers. The palace rears more than 5,000 feet above the rest of the city below, and offers stunning vistas of Chachin and the surrounding countryside. However, the attraction of these views has waned in recent years since Prince-Consort Brys, the Queen's son Diryk and a Malkieri noblewoman named Iselle Arrel fell to their deaths from a balcony in 979 NE.
Activities at the palace[]
The Aesdaishar Palace was the site of a clandestine battle between the Aes Sedai Moiraine Damodred and an agent of the Black Ajah, Merean Redhill in early 979 NE. It was during this battle that Iselle, Brys and Diryk were killed by Merean before Moiraine was able to stab her to death. A Darkfriend agent, Ryne Venamar, was also slain by al'Lan Mandragoran during this skirmish.
