King Alsalam raised Lord Rodel Ituralde, his personal friend, to High Seat of House Ituralde and General of Arad Doman.

Alsalam was considered a good ruler for around 20 years, which made his sudden shift toward chaotic orders very suspicious. These more recent orders -- supposedly issued by King Alsalam -- were, in actuality, coming from Graendal. The Council of Merchants claimed the Domani King and the royal family were "in hiding" for their own protection. However, Graendal the Forsaken had taken them and used Compulsion to convince those on the council otherwise.
While members of the royal family were seen under Graendal's thrall, (Absalam's sister, daughter, wife and brother Ramsid were on display as acrobats under Graendal's Compulsion) the King himself was not exquisite enough for keeping as a pet according to Graendal's standards. It is unclear as to whether Graendal kept Alsalam as a prisoner or simply had him killed.
