Basharande was a kingdom of the Free Years. It was founded after the end of the Trolloc Wars, and was established on the former territory of Jaramide. It was later absorbed by the growing might of Artur Hawkwing's Empire. Basharande was one of the Borderlands in its day and also a militarily strong nation. The lands it once held are now controlled by Saldaea.
Geography
Basharande was the northwesternmost nation in the Westlands, stretching from World's End to the Plain of Lances and from the Blight almost to the Mountains of Mist. Its neighbors were Abayan, Indrahar, and Oburun to the south and Elsalam to the east. The River Arinelle was a major trade artery of the kingdom.
History
Relatively little is known of Basharande, save that it had a strong martial tradition and sent troops to fight the false Dragon Guaire Amalasan in the War of the Second Dragon. It was later conquered by Artur Hawkwing and made part of his empire as the Province of Saldaea. Lord Rylen t'Boriden Rashad, the governor of the province at the time of Hawkwing's death, declared Saldaea to be a sovereign nation shortly after Hawkwing's death and made alliance with the other Borderland kingdoms to stand against any threat from the south as well as from the Blight during the subsequent War of the Hundred Years.
