Bendhuin is of the Green Salts sept and the Shaido Aiel clan. He is the head of the Shaido Far Aldazar Din, a Brother to the Eagle.

The Green Salt sept is scattered by Sammael's call-boxes and eventually regroup in the town of Malden. There he is given permission by Therava to leave for Rhuidean to become Clan Chief of the Shaido.
