Cabriana Mecandes was an Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah.
Appearance[]
She had long golden hair and pale blue eyes, which was fairly rare for a Tairen.
Abilities[]
Cabriana was relatively weak in the One Power, roughly on the same level as Careane Fransi and Akarrin.
Her level of strength is described by "The Wheel of Time Companion" as 34(22) which is an intermediate level in Aes Sedai hierarchy.
Cabriana in TWoTC is described with the Talent of fast learning.
History[]
Cabriana was a Tairen from a noble house. She was born with the spark in 911 NE and when her ability manifested in 927 NE she was immediately sent to the White Tower, though she went unwillingly.
She was a fast learner who could have moved faster as novice and Accepted had she not spent a good deal of time sulking over being sent to the Tower, because she did not want to became an Aes Sedai. She spent twelve years as novice and seven as Accepted before being raised to the shawl in the year 946 NE.
She, Anaiya Carel, and Kairen Stang were nicknamed "The Three" because they did not share any of their activities with anyone else except each other.
She was the Aes Sedai that showed Moiraine Damodred and Siuan Sanche their living quarters just after they were raised to the Blue Ajah. Even then she showed the two newly raised Aes Sedai a submissive attitude. This surprised Moiraine, who did not yet know that Aes Sedai ranking is based on strength, especially as Cabriana seemed to have a strong personality.
Activities[]
After the Schism and before reaching Salidar, Cabriana and her Warder were captured by Darkfriends.
On the orders of the Dark One, via Shaidar Haran, Semirhage tortured Cabriana for all the information she had on the Salidar Aes Sedai and their involvement with Rand al'Thor. To her credit, Cabriana tried to resist, but was broken when Semirrhage tortured her Warder to death.
Semirhage had this information passed on to Aran'gar, who showed up in Salidar under the guise of Halima Saranov and claiming to have been Cabriana's companion. Halima told the Salidar Aes Sedai that Cabriana was killed in a fall. But this story generated suspicion among Cabriana's best friends, Anaiya and Kairen, who started investigating and were killed by Halima.
It is confirmed in "The Wheel of Time Companion" that Cabriana was killed after questioning.
