Caraighan Maconar was an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah who lived between 212 and 373 AB. Caraighan is considered the 'archetypal' Green Sister and the embodiment of the goals and ideals of the Green Ajah.

Along with Rashima Kerenmosa, she is considered the greatest of the Green Ajah's heroes. Amongst her exploits were putting down a rebellion in Mosadorin and quelling the Comaidin Riots at a time when she had no Warders.

Circa 300 AB she took Mangore Kiramin, a sword-bard of Aramaelle, as her Warder. As well as an accomplished warrior, he also undertook a translation of the Prophecies of the Dragon that is still quoted and referred to today.

The false Dragon Raolin Darksbane troubled the Westlands in 335 AB. It is unknown if Caraighan played any role in his capture and gentling in Tar Valon.
