Many nations have risen and fallen since the Breaking of the World. Some are remembered now only in name and in song - others do not even have that.
The subcategories for the historical nations are split into three main time periods.
- AFTER BREAKING - concerning the Ten Nations that came to existence after the Breaking and which formed the Compact of Ten Nations until the time of the Trolloc Wars.
- THE FREE YEARS- concerning the many nations that arose from the destruction of the Trolloc Wars until the time of Guaire Amalasan and the subsequent unification of the lands during the Consolidation under Artur Hawkwing and the eventual formation of his Empire.
- FORMER NATIONS OF THE NEW ERA- concerning those nations that arose from the breakup of Hawkwing's Empire, but which have not survived to the present day.
