Dailin is a Maiden of the Spear of the Nine Valleys sept of the Taardad Aiel. She is Aviendha's second-sister. TDR 39

In early printings of the The Dragon Reborn, her sept is incorrectly given as Iron Mountain. However, Aviendha says that she and Dailin are from the same sept; Aviendha's is consistently given as Nine Valleys.

She has dark red hair and gray eyes.

[edit] In Search of He Who Comes with the Dawn

Dailin, Aviendha, Bain, Chiad, and Jolien are some of the last algai'd'siswai sent over the Spine of the World in search of He Who Comes With the Dawn. Nynaeve al'Meara, Egwene al'Vere, and Elayne Trakand encounter Aviendha after leaving their grounded ship during their journey towards Cairhien. She brings them to Dailin, who is wounded, and the other Maidens, and Nynaeve Heals Dailin. The three women leave the Aiel and head towards Jurene.

Shortly after leaving the Maidens, Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne are attacked and knocked unconscious. When they awaken, they are being held captive by Darkfriend bandits and three Myrddraal. A group of Aiel arrive, including the five Maidens, and kill the Darkfriends. Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne kill the Myrddraal using the One Power.

When the fight is over, Dailin is among the dead. Nynaeve is angered and saddened over "the waste," saying she didn't Heal the girl just so she could die.
