Eben Hopwil was an Asha'man. He was promoted to the rank of Dedicated and then Asha'man.

He was quite young, only sixteen, and was skinny with a big nose and ears. he has blotches on his face.
[edit] Dumai's Wells and the Seanchan
He was one of the first men on the farm. Eben participated in the rescue of Rand at Dumai's Wells. He was taken by Rand as an Asha'man bodyguard and he went to Cairhien with him after after the battle. He was sent to Rand's force camped outside Illian. He helped destroy several outposts on the borders of Illian but was forced to flee when Sammael Travelled there and Channelled the One Power at Rand's army.
He gave news to Rand that the Seanchan invaded Amador and Ebou Dar. While there he is forced to destroy a Seanchan troop which contained a Sul'dam and Damane. He has just recently been promoted to the rank of Asha'man. He goes with Rand when Rand tries to deal with the Illian rebels loyal to Lord Brend. He rides with Rand when Rand's forces attack the invading Seanchan just outside Illian. On arrival back to Cairhien he accompanies Rand to his meeting with Cadsuane Melaidhrin.

Daigian Moseneillin bonded him as her Warder. He Travels with Cadsuane and Daigian to Far Madding to track down Rand. He then goes with Cadsuane to meet with the Council's of Far Madding when they have Rand prisoner. He pretends to channel saidin in order to break Aleis Barsalla and set Rand free. During the Battle near Shadar Logoth he links with Nesune Bihara, Beldeine Nyram and Daigian. He was killed by Aran'gar, a male Forsaken in a female body, when he detected him/her holding saidin and attacked her.
