Einor Saren is a Whitecloak officer and a Questioner under Jaichim Carridin.

He is tall and hook-nosed. He has a harsh voice and a set of unalterable certainty to his face.

He greets Geofram Bornhald when he arrives in Tarabon. He is second in command after Jaichim Carridin.

Saren invites Bornhald and his men to a village that has been 'pacified'. Bornhald takes that to mean that they have killed all the inhabitants for secrecy. Saren gives them orders to root out Darkfriends on the Almoth Plain and the men of Bornhald's legion are to be at the disposal of the Hand of the Light by orders of Pedron Niall. Bornhald feels like he is being moved like stones on a board.

He is used as a messenger by Pedron Niall to escort Morgase Trakand to his audience chamber. Saren has a deep contempt for her and 'happens' to walk past the place where Paitr Conel and Torwyn Barshaw are being hanged as Darkfriends.

Afterwards, he talks with Rhadam Asunawa about being used like a dog to fetch Morgase and how he felt about to sick up his stomach standing so close to a witch. He wanted to kill her.
