Esmara Getares was a noblewoman of some power, influence, and nobility. She lived during the latter part of the War of the Hundred Years.

Circa FY 1090 she launched an invasion of Andor from the south, having already secured control over much of what is now Illian and the Plains of Maredo. The scale of her invasion is unknown, although given her ambition and the territory already under her control, it must have been significant.
However, Getares' assault was defeated by Andor's forces and she was captured in battle. She spent the final twelve years of her life as the "guest" of Queen Telaisien and died by assassination, although the motives for having her killed at that point are unknown.
Getares' capture saw the territory she had conquered fall apart. Her capture allowed Nicoli Merseneos den Ballin to rise to power and found the modern kingdom of Illian.
