Ester Stepashin is an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah[1].

Appearance and Abilities Edit

Ester is under five feet tall, with large brown eyes, a short cap of dark brown curls and a small, upturned nose. She is cute, almost doll-like, which she does not like having pointed out, any more than she enjoys anyone referring to her height.

Her strength level is 16(4), a high level in the Aes Sedai hierarchy. She is strong enough to Travel.

Among the ten ferrets, Ester is the second in hierarchy by strength and years of training.

History Edit

Ester is 45 years old. She was born in 955 NE and went to the White Tower in 972 NE. After spending seven years as a novice and eight years as Accepted, she was raised to the shawl in 987 NE.

Her father was a shipowner in Illian; she came from a line of shipowners, ship captains and shipbuilders.

She was a novice with Siuan Sanche and Moiraine Damodred, having arrived in the Tower just a few months before the pair.

When Siuan was raised Amyrlin at such a young age she openly expressed reservations, earning a stiff penance; she felt no anger over this as she accepted that she had overstepped her bounds. However, this was used as part of her cover as a ferret. Also used was the fact that Siuan has outpaced her as a novice.

She had one Warder to whom she was married.

She has allied herself with the Salidar Aes Sedai and was one of the ten ferrets sent to the White Tower to spread the rumor that the Red Ajah set Logain up as a False Dragon.[2]

When Zerah Dacan is found out to be a Salidar spy, she gives up Ester's name as well. Ester thus became part of the group that was trying to hunt down the Black Ajah[3].

When Meidani Eschede is freed from her oath of obedience, it can be assumed Ester was as well.
