Demetre Marcolin is First Captain of the Illianer Companions. A commoner who rose through the ranks, he served under Tamlin al'Thor when Tam was Captain of the Companions, though he did not let on about what he thought of Rand al'Thor as King of Illian.
Appearance[]
He is lantern-jawed, clean-shaven with dark eyes and an impassive face. He is about 5'10 to 5'11 tall.
Activities[]
He goes with Rand al'Thor when Rand tries to deal with the Illian rebels loyal to Lord Brend. He is quite often the leader of Rand's bodyguards. He spreads the Companions out on Rand's flanks in the final assault on the Seanchan; he was inhappy about only having 6,000 men because he did to realise how powerful Rand's Asha'man were. He agreed with the Tairen High Lady Rosana that Rand was unnecessarily risking himself.
In the Last Battle, he was with Egwene on the Kandori Plains. He was killed when the Sharans came through Gateways and destroyed the Aes Sedai camp.
