The Wheel of Time translates as La Ruota del Tempo in Italian. The first three books in the series were published in Italian translation by Mondadori in the 90s, then the Fanucci Editore republished them and continued the publication of the remaining books in the series. The year of the 1st Edition in Italian is listed in parentheses.[1] Volumes 1 and 2 are translated by Gaetano Luigi Staffilano; the prequel and volumes 3 through 7 are translated by Valeria Ciocci; Nello Giugliano translated volume 8, and Gabriele Giorgi is the translator for volumes 9 through 11.

The publishers reissued the whole series, including New Spring, with a consistent design.

The remaining books in the series were published with original artwork, with slightly altered versions of books eight and nine to fit in with the newer covers.

Fanucci Editore (Second design)[]

The next printing and continuation of later volumes in the series are part of a mismatched series of covers. They can be grouped as follows:

  • Books 1-5: Imitations, but not direct copies, of the Darrell K. Sweet Tor originals eg. Egwene on The Shadow Rising original cover has been changed to a blonde woman and wearing white.
  • Books 6-7: Use the original Tor artwork directly.
  • Books 8-9: Use original artwork.

Fanucci Editore (First designs)[]

The first version of The Eye of the World mirrors the original, but was later republished to match the later covers for books 2-7 and New Spring.

Mondadori[]

The first three books in the series were published betweem 1992 and 1995, but no more books were published until 2005 when the publishers changed to Fanucci Editore.
