First Selector

First Selector is the title of the head of the Blue Ajah.

In New Spring, the title of First Selector was held by a woman called Eadyth, who was also a Sitter for the Blue Ajah at the time.

During the events of the main series, it is unknown who the First Selector is. Candidates include Lelaine Akashi, Anaiya, Maigan or someone else. Lelaine is a strong candidate. In addition to her general influence, the Glossary of The Gathering Storm states she is "suspected" to be the First Selector. Such glossary entries have generally been accurate in the past. It should be noted though that when, during a chapter from her point of view in Knife of Dreams, Siuan thinks about the gulf in authority between herself and Lelaine, she does not reveal that Lelaine is the Head of the Blues. Anaiya may have been First Selector before her death, but that would still leave the question of who currently holds the position. Maigan's being assigned as the Blues' representative when Siuan went to Fal Dara and as Anaiya's replacement on Egwene's Council is suggestive. The identity of First Selector may be revealed in the final books.
