Foxhead Medallion

It has just occured to me that the way the Finn gathers memories is through the foxhead medallion that offers Mat protection from channeling? Is there something I'm missing that makes this completely insane - I know it's been mentioned once or twice that the memories put into his head are only adulthood through death, and all childhood memories are his own, which supports my theory. However, this is only my 2nd time through the later part of the series, so feel free to point out if I'm missing something glaring!! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.141.232.144 (talkcontribs) 01:59, November 6, 2012‎ (UTC)

It seems rather unlikely, since the medallion is apparently unique in the world, or at least exceedingly rare. Not everyone who goes through gets a physical gift, either... other than that, no evidence one way or the other, but if I had to guess I'd say they do it directly (they have some way to 'mark' a person as having been through a twisted redstone doorframe, since they can only do it once). -- nae'blis 20:48, November 9, 2012 (UTC)
It is mentioned once, if I remember correct, that aelfinn and eelfin collect memories of men who have been to the towers of Ghenjei as a relaisation by Mat. It's also mentioned by Moiraine in Tear that they feed off of feelings or experiences. I figured that was how they got the men's memories. Mat only got the medalion because ehe wanted a way to get away from Aes Sedai and the memories because he said he wanted to fill the gaps in his head, he didn't specify what so they just filled it with what they had.Acidloe (talk) 21:44, April 8, 2018 (UTC) Acidloe
