Taim is Demandred. Evidence the lord of chaos rule, he knows how to travel, is making a black tower, the people under his command are described to have a different look in their eyes, and last but not least not one can travel in or out of the black tower without his permission. Also, when Rand first saw him Lews Therin said to kill him. --- IShaitanI

Aside from the fact that Robert Jordan stated emphatically that Taim is not Demandred. ---- Willie - HtS 03:11, April 24, 2012 (UTC)
I think a more likely scenario is that Taim is under some kind of heavy compulsion by a Forsaken. Taim started out fully supporting Rand going so far as to cooperate in saving him from the White Tower at Dumais Wells, telling the Rebel Aes Sedai "kneel or you will be knelt." He started out fully supporting Rand. Why the change? Perhaps he really is evil. Perhaps the taint has finally gotten to him. Or perhaps, a Forsaken has compulsed him. That's my two cents worth.

Pedantic makes a good point, but it could be something not even as complicated as compulsion. Taim could have simply fallen to temptation. He could have come into contact with a Forsaken, or even the Dark One himself, and was offered something to cause him to change his loyalties.TheReaperofInsanity 20:47, May 17, 2012 (UTC)
I'm one of the luckiest guys in the world in that I have a boss who is equally as excited about the WOT series as I am and we talk. Since that conversation about who Taim really is, I have backed away from the theory that he is under compulsion. A good hard look at Dumai's Wells and one can see the arrogance of the man lying in wait...Reaper also has a good point and I find myself gravitating toward it. Why couldn't it be that Taim is saying to himself, "Why shouldn't I be the Dragon? That idiot Rand is going to get us all killed!" Or something along those lines. Or he could be Ishamael/Moridin in a mirror of mists. RAFO, I guess (grin).Pedantic 21:23, May 20, 2012 (UTC)
I'm firmly in the "Taim was Demandred in early drafts" camp, but AMoL put the final nail in all of the alternate-Taim camps... -- nae'blis 05:23, October 6, 2012 (UTC)
