Fourth Age

The Fourth Age of the Wheel of Time is the age prophecised to follow the Third Age and the Last Battle against the Dark One. It is an age that lies in the future from the perspective of the characters in the books.

Throughout the novels in the Wheel of Time sequence are scattered excerpts from historical documents which are dated from the Fourth Age. It is unclear whether these are 'snapshots' of what life will be like after the books have ended, or if these are referenced from the previous turning of the Wheel of Time, and the coming of the Fourth Age is not necessarily inevitable this time around.

According to these fragments, cities such as Great Aravalon (a future incarnation of Tar Valon?) and Taralan will exist in the Fourth Age, and a palace or castle known as the Court of the Sun will also exist.

The beginning of the Fourth Age is anticipated to occur at the very end of the series.
