Haral Luhhan is the Emond's Field blacksmith and also sits on the Village Council. Master Luhhan is married to Alsbet Luhhan.

His arms are nearly as large as most men's legs and are roped with muscle. [2] He has gray in his hair.[3]

He is strong and brave, but pales at the sight of butchering being done.[2]

History[]

He is part of the Village Council.[4] He is the only one that can get Cenn Buie to see reason.[2]

Perrin Aybara was apprenticed to Master Luhhan in his smithy since his youth.[5]

He only once called Perrin a "worthless apprentice". This was when Perrin broke Master al'Moor's new scythe blade.[3]

He keeps dogs.

Activities[]

His is in a meeting at The Winespring Inn with the rest of the Village Council when Padan Fain arrives.[4]

At the beginning of the series, Mat Cauthon is trying to avoid him because covered two of his dogs with flour in a prank involving ghost hounds and he suspects Haral knows exactly who is to blame.[4]

Perrin tells him about seeing a cloaked man (really a Myrddraal) in Emond's Field. Haral tells him it was only shadows, but carried around his largest hammer while banking the forge-fire and putting the tools up, something he has never done before.[6]

Master Luhhan was always supportive of Perrin, Mat and Rand al'Thor despite rumors and claims by the Children of the Light that they were Darkfriends which led to his arrest.

Haral crafted the Half-moon axe which Perrin carried through most of the series.

Perrin arranges for someone to keep Haral from being bothered while he helps prepare the village against Trollocs using his blacksmithing skill.[7]

Haral played a key role in defending Two Rivers by rallying support behind Perrin during the Trolloc raids. He participates in the Battle of Emond's Field.[8]

He rescues an injured Perrin and goes with him to Mayene where the Yellow Ajah have set up their base for Healing. He has kind words for Perrin and calls him "a master of the craft".[3]
