Harriet Rigney is Robert Jordan's widow and sometime editor. Much of his characterization of female inhabitants of the Westlands comes directly from his views about his wife.^[1]

She is currently overseeing, along with the author Brandon Sanderson, the completion and publication of the final entries in the Wheel of Time series: The Gathering Storm, Towers of Midnight, and A Memory of Light. She is also working on an encyclopedia based on The Wheel of Time series.
