The Hills of Absher are located in western Andor and make up some of the territory between Baerlon and Whitebridge.
Events[]
A large force of Shadowspawn used the geography of the hills to their advantage in their initial pursuit of Rand al'Thor and his companions from the Two Rivers, driving them away from the road and eventually forcing them to take refuge in the ruined city of Shadar Logoth to the north.
Geographical Information[]
- Rand al'Thor recalls seeing Bran al'Vere's old map showing that the Caemlyn Road "curved around something called the Hills of Absher".
- When Perrin Aybara suggests making a direct path from the Caemlyn Road to Whitebridge to escape the Trollocs pursuing them, Moiraine Damodred says that progress would be slow through the Hills and that they would eventually have to meet up again with the Caemlyn Road before reaching Whitebridge.
- Moiraine informs the group of two choice, north or south, saying "to the south are the Hills of Absher, barren and dead, and the Taren, with no way to cross, and no traffic by boat.
