Ispan Shefar was an Aes Sedai of the Black Ajah (publicly of the Blue Ajah).

Ispan was a Taraboner with black hair.

Ispan was delicate and had very gentle senses. Note in ACoS "she wiped her hands on her skirts, as if she had done it herself" (killing the roach that was climbing the wall in the alley)
When Ispan was a Novice, she ran away from the White Tower and got as far as Ebou Dar before being caught by Aes Sedai and returned to the Tower.

She was a member of Liandrin's Group of Black Sisters.
Ispan was sent to Ebou Dar with Falion to find a hidden cache of Ter'angreal, Angreal and Sa'angreal.
She was captured by Elayne Trakand, Nynaeve al'Meara and several others in Ebou Dar. She is taken into custody by Adeleas Namelle and Vandene Namelle who question her on her Black Ajah involvements. Later she was murdered with Adeleas by unknown Darkfriends as Elayne and the others made their way towards Caemlyn.
It was revealed in Knife of Dreams that Ispan was killed by Careane Fransi.
