Jaem is Warder to Vandene Namelle.

He is old for a warder, but still remains as dangerous as always. He is wiry and gnarled.

When Moiraine comes to visit the twins, Jaem picks up the sword again and begins working out with Lan Mandragoran, even stabbing a Draghkar at the same time as Lan, saving Moiraine's life.

After joining with the Salidar Aes Sedai for a while he soons leave with Vandene again, to go to Ebou Dar to look for the Bowl of the Winds. When he finds out Birgitte Silverbow is Elayne Trakands Warder he takes her under his wing and teaches act like a Warder.

He then Travels from Ebou Dar to the Kin's farm and then on to Andor.

He teaches Elayne's bodyguards how to use the sword. He feels Vandene die inside the house on Full Moon Street and rushes inside to confront the Black Ajah Aes Sedai who killed her. It's assumed he died in the confrontation.
