Lemai Ambani is an Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah.
History
Lemai spent six years as novice and eight as Accepted. She remained loyal to the White Tower during the White Tower schism.
Strength and Abilities
Due to being referred to as one of the two strongest Aes Sedai in her group[1], the other being Desandre, it is highly likely that she is strong in the One Power, and quite far above the Aes Sedai average.
This is confirmed by "The Wheel of Time Companion" where her level of strength is described as 15(3). This is enough to open suitable gateway to Travel.
Activities
She was one of Toveine Gazal's group of fifty-one sisters sent by Elaida do Avriny a'Roihan to destroy the Black Tower[2]. They were all captured and bonded involuntarily by the Asha'man[3]. In particular Lemai was bonded by Morly Hardlin.
Elaida abandons the Aes Sedai sent to capture the Black Tower, including Lemai, at Alviarin Freidhen's suggestion [4].
Gabrelle Brawley convinces Toveine that they must publicly submit themselves to Lemai and Desandre, the two sisters who stand the highest among the captured Aes Sedai; Gabrelle says this is necessary to ensure that the captured Aes Sedai remain united[1].
Lemai and Desandre initiate orders that all captive sisters must achieve cordial status in the relationships with their captors in a ploy to lull the men into becoming amenable to them[5].
Toveine deeply dislikes taking orders from them[5].
