Miren is one of Min's three aunts.[1] She lives in Baerlon.[2].

Jan, Miren and Rana have raised Min to be fair, but Min thinks that Miren seems to know a bit more about the world than her other two aunts. While Jan and Rana tell Min not to kiss a man unless you mean to marry him, Miren tells her not to kiss a man too casually because men fall in love too easily [3]. Miren also seemed to be the most understanding of Min's desire to wear breeches and be a tomboy.
Miren claims that there are three lies any man will believe from a woman; one of them is that a woman enjoys being held by a man just as much as sleeping with him [4].
