Rina Hafden is an Aes Sedai and for a while a loyalist Sitter of the Green Ajah.
Appearance
She is described as being elegant despite being stocky. She has a square face and an upturned nose. She is a fierce, tenacious and determined woman, not easily daunted.
Strength and Abilities
Being a Sitter in the Hall for a while means that Rina is also a high-ranking sister and a strong channeller by Aes Sedai standards. Thus she has the strength needed to use the travel weave.
This is not confirmed by "The Wheel of Time Companion" where her level of strength is described only as 22(10). But this is probably a mistake because nine levels below the strongest Sitters would mean that Rina was a too weak Sitter compared to them.
Rina's true level of strength can be guessed by the time she spent as novice and Accepted which was in total seventeen years, roughly the same as sisters that are between levels 19(7) and 20(8), in fact the time spent in training usually reflects the strength of an Aes Sedai.
However, given the fact that Rina was part of the Too Young Sitters conspiracy, her strength level might not have been considered when she was elected, meaning that she could be weaker than the other Sitters.
History
Rina is 77 years old. She was born in the year 923 NE and went to the White Tower in 938 NE. After spending nine years as novice and eight as Accepted she was raised to the shawl in the year 955 NE.
At the time of the Aiel War Rina had two Warders, Waylin and Elyas Machera [1], later she masked the Bond between herself and Elyas after he ran away when he discovered he was a Wolfbrother.
Rina gave up hunting for him actively. She let him go in large part because she knew the Red sisters who had accused him of being a Darkfriend might well kill him no matter what she tried to do. None of which meant she did not want him back; he was hers by Aes Sedai lights, and they were married.
Activities
After the schism in the White Tower, when Joline Maza was unchaired by Elaida a'Roihan and sent to Ebou Dar, Adelorna Bastine, the head of the Green Ajah, picks Rina as new the Sitter for the Green Ajah, although she was young for the position.
Rina is present when Elaida grants the Sitters requests to begin negotiations with the Rebel Aes Sedai.
Rina has not remained a Sitter after the White Tower Schism was over. In fact, she was replaced by Farnah Sadaou[2].
