The Royal Library of Cairhien is one of the great wonders of the world, a vast treasure trove consisting of tens of thousands of books on every conceivable subject. It is located within the city of Cairhien, within an impressive and large stone structure. The Royal Library is one of the greatest treasures of the kingdom of Cairhien and as a depository of knowledge, it is second only to the Great Library of the White Tower in Tar Valon.
The Royal Library was one of the few buildings in the city not torched by the Aiel during the First Battle of Cairhien. The Aiel consider knowledge to be precious and will not destroy a book of knowledge.
