Sad bracelets

The sad bracelets are a male version of the a'dam, a ter'angreal for controlling men who can channel. It takes the form of a finely jointed collar and two bracelets of dull black metal.
The bracelets were recovered in Tanchico, in the Panarch's Palace, by Nynaeve al'Meara and Elayne Trakand. They gave them to Egeanin Sarna and Bayle Domon to drop into the ocean.
Egeanin and Domon were stopped by the Seanchan, however, before they were aple to dispose of the bracelets. They were turned over to the High Lady Suroth Sabelle Meldarath who, in turn, raised Egeanin to The Blood. [1] They were subsequently copied and six sets were recovered after an abortive attempt to capture Rand.[2] It is unknown whether any other copies remain in Seanchan hands. One set is possessed by Cadsuane Melaidhrin.[3]

| Cadsuane's set was later destroyed when Elza Penfell stole them from her strong box in asociation with Moridin and gave them to Semirhage who used them on Rand. This resulted in Rand's channeling the True Power and using balefire on the set, as well as on Semirhage and Elza.[4] |

Made during the Breaking, and called a Domination Band[4], it is a ter'angreal, a male version of the a'dam, that allows a woman or two women to control a man who can channel. The sad bracelets are dangerous to use. They do not prevent the man from going mad and eventually he will be able to control the woman as well as she controlling him. Two women reduces this back seepage, but control lessens as well. The sad bracelets are made of a material like cuendillar and are nearly impossible to destroy.
