Talk:List of Old Tongue words

From A Wheel of Time Wiki

If 'wansho' means 'Builder', why did Agelmar call Loial "Loial Kiseran" ("Glorious Loial") rather than "Loial Wansho" ("Builder Loial")? Loial is called Builder, I believe, in that same passage. So 'wansho' means 'glory' (though a distinct form of glory from 'daishar', battle blood). Dhasenan 13:19, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

if 'Siswai' means spear what does 'darei' mean? it can't be a woman's spear because there is a society named Cor Darei meaning night spears. perhaps it is the differences between a personal spear and the spear of the public

I don't see much use for "public" spears versus "private" ones. It's probably a different type of spear, such as a naginata; or simply a different level of formality. Dhasenan 22:30, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
