Talk:Tear

From A Wheel of Time Wiki

[edit] Real-World References

I don't feel comfortable enough to edit the article, but in my opinion, Tear far more resembles the Hellenic Troy than the things listed for a number of reasons: It is a rich, port city; It has a supposedly impregnable fortress; and its horses' blood-stock is superb. I don't know what other people think, but to me this seems like fairly damning evidence.

Well, historicly, the Spanish horses have been considered to be some of the best in europe. Other than that, the way RJ describes their dress culture and their handling of horses has an uncanny resemblence to the Spanish Conquistadores. -- 12:33, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

On the other hand, there are distinctly East Asian elements in their architecture and the dress of the common people.
