The chronology of the second paragraph (where the addition of the first and second oaths is discussed) does not seem right. The Breaking occurred after Lews Therin and his 100 companions sealed the breach in the bore, and was caused by the taint to saidin. The War of the Shadows occurred between the breach in the bore and the quest of Lews Therin and his small army of Aes Sedai. If Oath #2 is created after the War of the Shadow then it of necessity must come before Oath #1. Comments anyone?

Speculation???[]

I don't have an opinion on chronology.

What would be the best place for specutlations on the three oaths and trust of chanelers in general. Seems to be a big issue in the books, what with the Seanchan views on damane, the three oaths, the Sharan segregation of chanelers, etc. The Aiel and Sea Folk seem to actively respect their chanelers.

Egwene seems to have flirted with the line of oaths before. It seems like using the binder to enforce the Oaths makes them worth less (though not completely worthless) since Aes Sedai are constantly trying to mislead without lying rather than just telling the truth.

Is there a "correct" way to make observations like this?

I would say a section names something along the lines of "Impact of the Three Oaths." Because this (for the most part) comes from the books, it wouldn't really be speculation. I seem to remember Egwene making an observation along those lines, at least with the Aiel, when she was the Wise Ones' apprentice. Add in the reader's observation of the Seanchan, Sharan and Sea Folk attitudes towards chanelers in relation to the Three Oaths (i.e. subdugation, segregation and respect) and there ya go. ---- Willie - HtS 16:59, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

Re: First Comment[]

You were right, the chronology wasn't correct, and neither was the actual info. I've fixed it, and added ref.
