Talk:Westlands

From A Wheel of Time Wiki

It may be worth mentioning that the word "Westlands" is never even mentioned in the novels - it is only used as a term in the Wheel of Time d20 Role Playing Game. --Ishmayl 01:34, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

  • Correct, and the RPG is, at absolute best, a secondary canon source of less notability than the novels. However, that still makes it far more notable than the alternative 'Randland', which was an informal fan-created term that was never used in any source of any level whatsoever. Also, Robert Jordan himself used the 'Westlands' as a term several times after it was introduced and the term now appears more often in fan discussions. The only other term which could be used is 'wetlands', which although specific to the Aiel nevertheless is a term used in the novels to refer to the entire landmass west of the Spine of the World.--Werthead 03:30, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
