Tetsuan was an Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah and later the Amyrlin Seat.

She was raised to the Amyrlin Seat during the Trolloc Wars. It is believed she prevented reinforcements from other kingdoms reaching Manetheren before it was destroyed, circa 1200 AB, out of jealousy of the strength in the One Power of Queen Eldrene. She was later deposed -- stripped of stole and staff -- and kept in the White Tower as a scullery maid who could be pointed to as a caution of what can happen to the mightiest. She died some years later. ^[verify]

She is one of only three Amyrlins deposed in more than three thousand years of history. The others were Bonwhin Meraighdin in FY 992 and Siuan Sanche in 999 NE.
