Sorilea brought five of the captured Aes Sedai to Rand in Cairhien in front of the sun throne. They pledged their fealty to him with fervor and Rand said for them all to be maid apprentices to the wise one like the others that had pledged fealty to him at first.

Rand was then told by Sorilea that Cadsuane was in the palace. He decided to visit her. He took Min and Moor with him and when they were in the hall their was a big bang. Turning around they saw his antechamber and bedroom burning and torn into rubble. Rand told Moor to take care of Min.

Rand padded down the halls seizing Saidin. When he saw Dashiva, Dashiva attacked him. Rand then attacked him back with fire but then he couldn't find them again.

Min was in a lower level of the Cairhienen Palace Fedwin played with wooden blocks. Min looked at him sadly knowing that the man who had protected her was now a boy in his mind. He was lost to himself with no chance of recovery.

Mazrim Taim came in and Rand told him to add Dashiva to the list of deserters who hung on traitors tree. Taim agreed as Rand gave Fedwin Moor a wine cup with an herb in it that would kill him to free him and to stop him from using the power to tear down things. Rand told Taim to return to the farm, the black tower, and not to come back to Cairhienen.

Rand said that he had to go and Min told Rand that she wasn't going to leave him.
