Tower of Ghenjei

From A Wheel of Time Wiki

The Tower of Ghenjei is believed to be a gateway into the world of the Eelfinn and the Aelfinn.

It lies near the River Arinelle ten days north of Whitebridge, and it appears to be a solid and spotless metal tower, two hundred paces high without any doors or windows. There is no opening on it; but if one draws the symbol for the game of Snakes and Foxes on the tower with a bronze knife, then a doorway will supposedly appear.

The Tower of Ghenjei is accessible through both the waking world and Tel'aran'rhiod. "Once entered, the Tower Of Genjei is hard enough to leave in the world of men. Here (in Tel'aran'rhiod) it is all but impossible." (Birgitte to Perrin The Shadow Rising/Chapter 28)

[edit] Recent Events

The Tower is believed to be the doorway to wherever Moiraine Damodred is being held, if she is still alive. Her letter to Thom Merrilin insinuates that she believes she will be rescued by him, along with others, in due time. Mat plans to undertake this along with Thom and possibly Noal Charin.
