Trom is one of the Lord Captains of the Children of the Light.

He is stocky, with a square face and black hair.

He was with Galad when he confronted Nynaeve al'Meara and Elayne Trakand about being in Sienda. He appears to be friends with Galad and has two knots of rank.
He would rather have a farrier pound his head with a hammer than practice sword with Galad.
He broke up a Darkfriend gathering while they were chanting a catechism to the Dark One. Among those at the meeting were Paitr Conel and his uncle and they were subsequently hanged.
He was promoted to Lord Captain after the Battle of Jeramel. He now wears three knots of rank.
He was sent to Nassad, along with the other Lord Captains, to meet with the Seanchan. Eamon Valda asks him why he was not already making his way there when they turn up at his lodge to bring charges against him. His absence (or lack of it) from this meeting may have consequences in the existing relationship between the Children and the Seanchan.
Trom backed Galad when he confronted Eamon Valda about Valda's treatment of Morgase. Having a superior officer of high rank to back Galad's position may have been important.
