Tylin Quintara Mitsobar was the Queen of Altara. She only has one living child left being Beslan Mitsobar, the rest having died in duels.

She has long glossy black hair with a gray at the temples. She has a very handsome face with a scar on either cheek.

She is a very smart ruler listening to all delegations sent to her such as the Children of the Light, the White Tower and listens to what Elayne Trakand and Nynaeve al'Meara have to say from the Salidar Aes Sedai. She also tries to do all in her power to help the two girls obtain the Bowl of the Winds which is currently in the Rahad region, a very poor and dangerous area.
While Matrim Cauthon was in Ebou Dar as a favour to Nynaeve and Elayne he moves from his room in the The Wandering Woman into the palace. There, Tylin forces him to become her lover at dagger point. She calls Mat her pretty and is overly possessive of Mat which is made worse when the Seachan invade Ebou Dar and Mat breaks his leg when debris falls on him.
After the Seanchan land in Altara, Tylin swore the oath of fealty and was raised to the Blood. In return, the Seanchan promise her complete control over all of Altara. Suroth takes Tylin away for a week (on a raken) to show her the lands she will control once they have 'reclaimed' more territory. On the night of Mat's escape he is found by Tylin who has returned early, she is voluntarily tied up by Mat to avoid suspicion of her helping to break free some damane, some of whom are also Aes Sedai.
Unfortunately the gholam who was tracking Mat in order to kill him--as the medallion he wears is the only thing that can kill the gholam--killed Tylin while she was tied up and pushed beneath her bed to hide her until morning.
