Wavemistress is a Sea Folk title for the ruler of a Sea Folk Clan. The Wavemistress of a clan is also the Sailmistress of her own ship.

The Wavemistress usually appoints her Cargomaster to become Swordmaster for her, and one of her Windfinders as her personal advisor.

A Wavemistress can be recognized by the large number of medallions on her nose-ring. Often, they number so greatly that there is no space in between each one.
